Business Partners in UNIMA Colleges and the Central Office

 

INTERNAL RE-ADVERTISEMENT

 

The University of Malawi will soon roll out its performance management system as part of the process of enhancing productivity among its staff members. To this end, it will require Business Partners to manage this system in collaboration with Faculties and the Registry where the human resource function falls. Hence, applications are invited from secretaries within the University of Malawi who are interested in being considered for these academic and administrative staff positions which largely require knowledge of human resource management at Bachelors’ level and advanced secretarial knowledge.

 

Candidates with a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or Business Administration from the University of Malawi and Advanced Secretarial Qualifications with 5 years’ experience will be considered regardless of where they are located in UNIMA for as long as they are fully computer literate and are conversant with packages that are frequently used in offices.

 

The purpose behind the position of the Human Resource Business Partner is to serve as the key interface between the Registrar’s Office and the Faculty Deans and employees to deliver effective and efficient Human Resource service in line with the needs and strategic priorities of UNIMA.

The role of Human Resource Business Partner will entail the following:

  1. Supporting line management in and advising on, the implementation of the performance management system.

  2. Monitor and report compliance of the policy – report to the College Registrar on completion of contracts and reviews completed.

  3. Report any non-compliance.

  4. Arrange with the Registrar’s Office on training as required.

  5. Advise line managers in Faculties on issues of non performance and

  6. Facilitate consistency or moderation meetings.
